The Edwin Tobler collection (St. Gallen) is online
The collection of coins of the St. Gallen mint of Edwin Tobler which was donated in 2013 to the Coin Cabinet, is now fully online on IKMK. Lorenzo Fedel was responsible for it.
The Tobler collection, assembled by the best specialist on this field, was built up over decades. Together with the collection of St. Gallen coins of the Coin Cabinet, Winterthur now holds the most comprehensive collection of coins of the City of St. Gallen. Both collections, the Winterthur one and the one of Edwin Tobler, also were the starting point of the reference work on St. Gallen, published in 2008: Edwin Tobler / Benedikt Zäch / Samuel Nussbaum, Die Münzprägung der Stadt St. Gallen 1407–1797.
